Slipen

Located on Djurgården, right by the water, is Restaurant Slipen. Set in an old boatyard with large windows overlooking Saltsjön, the Scandinavian furniture craftsmanship blends seamlessly with the site’s industrial heritage.

Developing the name and graphic identity, we aimed to connect with the location’s history, drawing inspiration from the angles of the slipway. The angled designs convey a sense of movement and energy, reminiscent of water, waves, and the ramps and winches of a shipyard.

A confident, dark ocean blue paired with a vanilla yellow base creates an inviting and Scandinavian feel. The hand-painted motifs on the menus offer a playful yet cohesive and unified expression.

The slanted and angled typographic groups harmonize with the logo, adding an unexpected, playful touch to selected items.

The angled shape conveys a sense of movement and energy, inspired by the slipway’s angle, as well as reflecting the shape of the building.

The logo has a modern, playful feel that aligns with the atmosphere and offerings Slipen wanted to provide.
